Christian Karaoglanian

Board Member, Risma

Christian Karaoglanian joined AccorHotels in 1976 working for the catering business of the company. In 1984, he took the responsibility of the hotel development in the Middle East and Asia and later he was in charge of the development of all hotel brands in Europe. In the 90’s, he started the asset management of the Accor hotel portfolio and became in 1997 deputy chief strategy and development officer.

He was Chief Development Officer for AccorHotels worldwide since 2002 implementing the development policy of the company with a team of 140 developers on five continents through organic growth as well as acquisitions.

He retired in March 2017 but is still advising AccorHotels Chairman on various projects.

He is also board member of various JV and listed hotel companies such as Orbis (the AccorHotels subsidiary for Eastern Europe), Mama Shelter (the AccorHotels JV with the Trigano family and Michel Reybier), Risma (the AccorHotels arm in Morocco) and Adagio (the AccorHotels JV with Pierre & Vacances).

He is also the non-executive President of Maranatha.

Christian Karaoglanian, a French citizen born in Paris. In 1951, he completed his University education at the Institute d’Etudes Politiques de Paris (IEP) and holds a degree in Economic Science.
